MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Ah yes!

I did get in touch with Schiit Europe, and they unfortunately told me that they won't have any Mjolnir 2s until the end of February, and possibly even later than that.

I'm constantly checking the head-fi Amps For Sale section though.
The Cavalli Liquid Carbon is also great with all the Ether's .

Anyone compared the Flow open with edition X V.2? Trying to decide between the 2 of them. Already have a 400i that I love.. Gonna drive it with a audeze deckard.

THANX!

I'll be able to compare them as soon as get my upgraded Flows back. Big fan of the X V2's though.

@grizzlybeast had both and kept the Flows over the X V2's, BUT said he like both for various reasons and didn't feel either was an upgrade/downgrade.

If anyone has any other amp recommendations below the 1.000 quid pricepoint, I'm all ears.

The Schiit Jotunheim has a fully balanced implementation, and going by one of Jude's YouTube reviews, it has the best noise floor and distortion specs of all Schiit amps.

Given the science behind Mojo's output stage (some measurements: http://www.head-fi.org/t/784602/chord-mojo-dac-amp-faq-in-3rd-post/6105#post_12125122), I'm not sure if there's need for an amplifier, especially with the Ether series, which can be driven to moderate volume levels even with mobile phones. Unless you want to color the DAC output, of course. I have auditioned Mojo/Dragonfly1.2 -> Jotunheim -> Ether C Flow at home, and discovered that while there are considerable improvements in soundstage, impact, and depth with the Dragonfly, the Jotunheim merely succeeds in making the Mojo's presentation dry.

Is the USB powered on the Jotunheim?

If you mean the power supply, the Jotunheim has its own power supply unit within the chassis, and uses input from the household mains (right-most port in the image below). So yeah, cannot be powered by USB.

No, I meant the opposite charge my phone from the Jotunheim

I see this can get rather expensive real fast till you reach the "covered everything" plateau. I guess I'll stick to original plan of the WA8 since I listen to my headphones throughout my house. Pick up the Jotunheim next followed by a balanced tube amp.  Should make Flows sing! I have far more music on my Synology NAS so maybe need to get a network attached DAC instead of Jotunheim... Decisions, decisions

Really loved the WA8 with the Ethe C's when I heard it at CanJam last year.

Sorry for doing this question that I am sure it has been answered (if so please indicate link).
I have a Senn HD600 paired which Chord Mojo and I want to add to my colection a planar headphone but going to at least one/two levels over HD600, but being a good combination with Mojo.
Is Ether Flow the next one although the 2,000€ tag in Spain (I am based on Barcelona).
Where can I test them? And which is the best place to purchase them?
If finally I reduce my spending on planar headphones in the range of 1,000 to 1,500 EUR, which brand and model do you recommend to me?
Thanks in advance

I think you will be pleased. It is heavier than it looks very well built. Not a portable amp but transportable.

You should tell people more about what you like in a sound signature and what type of musical genres you listen to. That way people can better make suggestions for you.
