agree on both points. the comment abt subbass extension kinda worries me a bit tho. i love planars with rly deep low freq xtension. hifiman he400/he400i/he560 all perform very well n that regard.

Yes I was hoping the ether would have that sub bass extension. I will keep my fingers crossed, and I will really love these cans. I am not a bass head but I do like it now and then.

I'm still hoping for an impression comparison vs the HE-6 sub bass. Nothing I've yet heard can compare to it.................hoping the Ether driven properly can do so.

I hear the HE-6 has the best sub-bass, of almost any other Orthodynamic headphones ( not counting the Abyss or the HE-1000. I might have to get the HE-6, for the sub-bass and to modd it too.

Not to pollute this Ether thread but the HE-6 modded (open grill, Audeze pads, suspension headband) changed my entire belief how good a headphone could sound and even more so how an open back bass could be so visceral. I love the look of the Ether so if it had the bass of an HE-6 with those good looks, I'd be on it. Quick.

In my impressions, I actually noted that the Ether can go really low in its bass. It's just that the bass is not heavily emphasized when playing music through them.

Any impressions or comparisons to the Beyerdynamic T1 vs Mr. Speakers ETHER?
