I just discovered this nifty little item from another thread. It works off USB power and would allow me to get ANY amp with it. It's a bit more hassle but since you don't have to plug it in, I think it would be okay. So that opens up a world of possibilities....

The Burson still puts out a lot more power than anything else I can find out there. It's a full 4 watts per channel @16 ohm. That's gonna be hard to beat... I told my wife I was getting frustrated trying to find the right DAC/Amp Combo and she said "you mean NONE of them work for you???" To which I replied "Well. One of them does, but it costs $2000.00". To which she replied "Why don't you just get that one?" Wait. What??? OH MY GOD!!!  

 

 
YESSS!!!! I got the wife to cosign my insanity. Now I just have to decide if I want to pull the trigger. It would be great to be done with this...

if u need something really portable...the dacportLX can power a can like DT770/600ohm to very high volume, usb off a laptop ..,without the need of another amp. dacportLX is v clean clear sounding, v dark background.

It doesn't need to be all that light weight or portable. It mainly needs to be able to be torn down and setup quickly and have as few parts as possible. The smaller the footprint the better of course, but power is a major concern. I don't want to make the same mistake again and get something underpowered. 2 wpc minimum. But it's looking like I'll probably be getting the Burson and that thing has a ton of power.

UPDATE: Purchased the "Burson Conductor" on Amazon last night. They had 2 day shipping for only $15.00. I researched until late in the night and in the end, price aside, the Burson is the most powerful and the reviews are great. It's definitely as good as I'm going to find for an all in one solution.  I wish it didn't cost so much but that's what I always say with high end stuff and then later I'm glad I spent the dough. It will be here early next week. I'm a happy man! Thanks for the advice and help.

Unfortunately I did not hear the DACMini, so cannot give you my input on it, but if I ever get my hands on one, I will compare them side by side and write a post about it .
However I heard Conductor near M2Tech Vaughan, and I must say that Amp wise conductor is better hands down, an DAC wise the difference was so ...soo small, and that says something about Conductor

The DACMini is a really nice all-in-one that would probably satisfy the audiophile needs of almost anyone...but me... 

 
It just doesn't quite pack the punch I want on those rare occasions. The DAC is a little finicky too. It crashes almost every night with my Macbook Pro for some reason. I'm hoping the Burson will be more stable with their own custom Driver. has the Burson been pretty stable for you with your Computer? He says with fingers crossed...
