My choice for overrated headphone is the Bose TriPort IE. Decent bass, but somewhat lacking in treble and definitely poor sound isolation. Not worth the US$99 price.

Well, obviously Bose has a profoundly inflated reputation - if mainly because no one else advertises as flagrantly.

Ultrasone deserves runner-up, if only because of the "There's Something About Ultrasone" thread that's been kept artificially afloat on the forums.
