Anyone know the reason or experience before why the Dunu 02 cable can't fit into the variations?

What do you mean it can't fit? Mines fit just fine. It's just a standard 2-pin connection.

I haven't heard any EST hybrids that I like yet but the Variation might fit the bill

The pins seem a bit larger than the normal 0.78 pin. I can only push in half way into the variations. Unless I force it into the socket, but afraid that the socket will become loose

Maybe the pins on the cable are slightly bent

That's strange. You didn't have this problem with other aftermarket cables?

Sometimes I might use a little force but nothing crazy. I find that it helps to wiggle or rock back n forth the 2-pin to get in sometimes. It definitely helps getting it out easier.

This is why I prefer MMCX connections more, don't have to deal with the possibility of snapping the pins or cracking the socket.

order from shopee just arrived. basic and simple packaging with not much going on, and cable is.... acceptable i guess. it's a bit wiggly now, but maybe it will soften a bit over time. But even then, the grey cable with that big round splitter looks just okay to me.

Haven't spent too much time with them yet since i'm still occupied by something else, but first impression based on the track Marigold by Aimyon is that it's a probably going to be a bit lean and a bit shouty for my taste. YMMV of course. But well, here are some photos of the Quarks.

My take? Typical annoying variance, brand to brand, same units within same brand, pins and sockets. Tolerances are minute here. Just bad luck with that combo for those particular items. Only solution is to try a different cable, keep looking. Forcing it is a no-no. Pins bend more easily than they are straightened. Moondrop sockets will distort/crack.
One of the truly maddening aspects of this hobby—cables!

I think Clint would approve! Just a quick note before I start listening hard. These came through amazon.de from Shenzen in only like 5 days. I think a gentleman form Austria had a similarly short delivery experience. They are big and we'll see about fit ...

Dunu duw02 produce warmer tone and graphene is balance and clear . But..
