Flat is not what we shoot for. Just because one graph has a certain curvature doesn't mean it's V-shaped. We don't want flat like a speaker response. Headphones and iems have target curves, and you don't call them V-shaped or whatnot due to having curves.Did you check the graphs in the comparison tool on Crinacle's page?
Based on them, the KXXS is quite V-shaped, while the VS7 has a rather flat response.
That will give the KXXS forward upper mids, looks even rather brighter, with lean lower mids and (moderately) boosted sub bass.
Very different tuning.
Looking at it the other way around, the VS7 should have much more forward lower mids and upper bass, we have up to 8dB difference here. The 8kHz spike could come across as a little sibilant or intense in treble.
