Had a quick listen with my KXXS a while ago, been ultra busy and not had a chance to even open them all week!!

Lovely crafting of the actual iems, nice range of tips - opted to use some comply I had kicking around

Had a quick listen out of my Huawei P30 phone using fiio music app streaming from my NAS

Lovely fit and I personally didn't find them to heavy - but after a few hours that may change.

Really impressed with these and instantly know they're keepers

Just need to find a DAP for them now

Flat is not what we shoot for. Just because one graph has a certain curvature doesn't mean it's V-shaped. We don't want flat like a speaker response. Headphones and iems have target curves, and you don't call them V-shaped or whatnot due to having curves.

Quite harsh response.

First "We" is pompeous, there are some "we" out there that could be "shooting for flat like a speaker response" (like someone in studio for reference monitoring, a musician, or just someone who likes it)

Secondly he was only decribing the curve of the the VS7 which appears much flatter than the KXXS which indeed, objectively appears more v-shaped in comparison, without emitting a judgement about one being preferable or what "everyone should be shooting for".

Wow nobody has posted it yet:

Cool looking variant on the Kxxs body. Hopefully this is a refined variant on the same driver design. The Kanas might be one of my most favorite IEMs ever made.

Actually his response was on point. People really have a hard time reading IEM graphs because they do not understand the natural gain from the outter ear is removed when using an IEM. This means you need gain in specific frequency ranges, one of which is between 2 and 4k. This means if you see a graph with a hump in this area it is actually flat sounding.

Hey guys and gals, I wanted to take some time to tell you all about a tip change that really made a difference for me with my KXXS. Forever, I've been using foam tips which sealed great and added more slam to the bass, but came at the cost of bass accuracy and depressed mids. Lady fate came knocking today because one of my foam tips deteriorated, which forced me to look at my collection of tips. I no longer have any foams and they are non-existent where I live so I needed to try something else. Just for poops and giggles, I had a pair of tri-flange silicone's laying around that I never used so I thought I'd give it the old college try and wow! The mids raised back up, the treble was a tad hotter but more revealing, and the bass had slightly less slam but far more accuracy and detail with none of the boominess and lack of control that the foam tips created. Every ear canal is different so your mileage may vary, but I highly suggest giving them a shot if you want to get the best sound out of your KXXS.
