Certainly possible as this unit came out in 2014. Still a highly competitive unit but it maybe a hard sell as new with so many years on the market.

You guys running 4pin xlr or 6,3 jack on the hd800s? I find the 6,3 sounding a bit darker. And i think maybe that I loose som stage and detail using the 6,3.
What's your experiences?

I am using some really nice silver Toxic Cables with both connections. I ten to prefer the 4 pin xlr balanced but the single ended still sounds great.

Hi all - I’ve had the Moon 430HAD amp for a number of years and enjoyed it a lot. Very unfatiguing/smooth sounding amp with lots of power. I am treble sensitive and the Moon was never harsh sounding. But (and I’m not diminishing the Moon amp) I recently upgraded to a CFA3 (Kevin Gilmore designed amp built by Dukei). I was a bit nervous it might be too much the other way for my tastes but its been a bit of a revelation. To my ears it really is quite a bit better with both my Susvaras and LCD5 headphones. Significantly more detail across the board (like a lot). More punch. More dynamic. A lot more transparent and a much more open soundstage. All of this without sounding harsh. It’s just completely uncoloured/neutral. Not to say the Moon is a bad amp. It really isn’t. I like it a lot. But for me it’s no longer TOTL. Like longbowbbs I also own the Studio 6 which I will retain in my main system but the Moon will be repurposed into a (still very good) second system. I’m not going to sell it.
I am still very pleased with the 430HAD. Nice compliment to my Studio 6. Glad you found another awesome amp to play with. That is the fun of this hobby.

Hi, longbowbbs, If you had to decide between the Moon or the Sudio Six (I'm using several headphones, notably the HE1000 V2), what would you do ?I am still very pleased with the 430HAD. Nice compliment to my Studio 6. Glad you found another awesome amp to play with. That is the fun of this hobby.
Hard to choose. It is a Tube vs SS question. Both are excellent. The S6 is wonderful with my HD800's while the Focal's love the Moon.

is that right? No middleman? I presume you mean dealers like TSAV??The thing about the BHSE is no middle man and it is just a stunning amp build and looks wise.

Thank you. How would you rate the Liquid Glass compared to those two ?Hard to choose. It is a Tube vs SS question. Both are excellent. The S6 is wonderful with my HD800's while the Focal's love the Moon.
I am a fan of all the big Cavalli amps. The LG was special. On par with the S6. Picking between them was really more about how you tube rolled with either unit. Both are long term amps.

My only caveat is among the headphones I own and use, TH900 for instance are very fine with the LG. But HE1000 V2 not so much, I have to crank up volume on both LG and preamp a lot to have it delivering substance. Low impedance HE1000 need something more powerful.I am a fan of all the big Cavalli amps. The LG was special. On par with the S6. My HiFiMan Edition X's work great with the S6. So do the Audeze LCD-X's. Plenty of power.
I'm considering upgrading the integrated dac with an auralic vega g1. Anyone tried this? Would it be a good match?
I have A-B the auralic altair g1 with the integrated dac in the 430had and I can't pick them apart in blind test. Would the vega g1 be a more worthy comparement?

If you can't tell them apart, it's $ you shouldn't spend.
What dac would be a noticeably better one than the built in 9018 dac? How high in price would you have to go and what would you gain in upgrading the dac? Anyone using an upgraded dac with the 430had?
