I've got a pair of thease, do you have any idea of modding them? They already got a new cable.

Honestly, I don't think there's much you can do to make them sound any better.  Don't think the casing is very good for modding either, it's pretty solid and...plasticky.  Don't think Monster designed these so you can take them apart and mess around with them.  Anyway, no self respecting audiophile would buy one of these to begin with, so you'd pretty much be on your own if you wanted to figure out any mods for it.

I don't think there's any built-in amp with them like the Studios.  So the only way I know of to reduce the bass is to use an EQ, either on your PC, iPod or whatever.

If you wish to have less bass, why did you get the beats solo at the first place. you will be much better off with other cans in terms of sound quality

Replace step one with 'give to charity', and you're all good!

Removing them from the head, neck, chest, and face area will dramatically reduce bass and all other unwanted audio artifacts and produce a much more natural "life like" sound.

If you have a custom EQ you can set the bass lower.

Maybe opening them up and covering some bass ports should work (shh I know am late) and add some dynamat. Who am I kidding the early ones belonged to garbage cans.
