Little Dot 1+ should do better for low impedence phones. I believe the Mark II is more suited to high impedence phones. I have a 1+ but not the 1060 yet.

If you can stretch your budget while looking into schiit stuff; mojo2 hybrid tube amp works great with the m1060, and also for many is endgame. Can find used around here.

Mojo on its own drives the M1060 extremely well! The volume is only on red/orange so it has plenty of headroom!

......Would the little dot mark 2 power of the m1060 well? I have heard that tube amps are not ideal with planars.

The LD Mk2 powers my m1060s no problem. The 1060s are very efficient, regardless of the planar design. Go for it. Make sure to try all 4 different gain settings on the mk2. I prefer gain of 4 or 5 for most headphones. You will not be disappointed.

I listened to the 1060 for 2 weeks now. When I got them, I never read any reviews or this thread. I want to be unbiased. The first feeling I had was wow this sounds as good as Hifiman Edition X which I just sold to buy V2. The sound signature is quite different compared to LCD3 (sold), but I can't say if one is superior to the other. It sounds very neutral to me. I don't do frequency response curves, it's just my subjective perception. The clarity and imaging are amazing. It doesn't have the greatest soundstage for open cans. Lastly the sound is very organic and natural. It sound as good out of LG V20 as Centrance M8. I don't see why I need to buy HeX v2 when these are $300. So cheap I can take them anywhere without worry about it being stolen or damaged. The only thing I own now is LCD-XC limited edition. You can't beat the value. It's amazing.

I love the way the m1060's sound, but they are very uncomfortable on my head. I have a big head and they put pressure right on the top. 
 
Are there any mods to improve the headband material or comfort of these yet?
