Does anybody have any suggestions as to a entry level DAC/AMP setup that will drive these headphones well?

I'd look at the Topping D30 DAC and the A30 amp.  I got a thread on the D30 over at the source forum.  As for the A30 amp, I would buy one if I didn't already have a bunch of amps sitting around.  The A30 puts out 1551mW at 32 ohm, so it's going to be over 1000mW for 50 ohm.  The components look really nice.  Together, they make a good looking stack.

What about something like the SMSL M6? I'm just looking for something that'll work well for the M1060's without breaking the bank. I have a E10K and it's simply not going to cut it.

The M6 by itself is a bit weak. It'll do 270 mW at 64 ohm and 330 mW at 32 ohm, so you'll get around 300 mW for 50 ohm. On the low side to drive the m1060.

Anyone else have their Next Day M1060's go 'missing' in shipment? Supposedly another pair has been sent, and scheduled for tomorrow. Tracking through their preferred carrier is non-existent.

Got my M1060's coming to me Thursday. Not to beat the question to death, but I'm also wondering what the best combo would be. Should i get the Magni 2 Uber and the Modi 2 Uber ($300), or go full-on and buy the Jotunheim with the balanced DAC ($499). Is the Jot worth the extra money in the long run?

Mine arriving on Thursday evening, will be fun & curious to hear these.

As someone posted, if that jet.com discount works (15% off 1st 3 orders), it may be the best deal yet, at $266; probably need to add shipping. But don't exactly know how jet works, or if need to enroll or subscribe. Kinda think you can just outright buy there. Do know they pool their gear from all sources, and in this case Monoprice is the only supplier, so it's direct to jet. Other gear they can obtain from a middle-man or wholesaler, rather than the mfr.

Question for those already listening to M1060...thought I read here differing impressions of the high frequency reproduction...I may be wrong though...did some say it is neutral, or bright or brighter than LCD-2, or thought some said it was dull and rolled off ? Maybe I read wrong.

What are your impressions of the M1060 high frequencies and what other headphone models would you liken this impression to ?

I'm no expert (especially since I don't have any of the products) but my opinion is that the Jotumheim is worth it.  It seems like it's literally the last amp/dac a person would ever need.  The magni/modi is great, and very well reviewed...but if you ever have upgrade-itis, you might be replacing it.

I could really only find two downsides to the Jotunheim from reading reviews on it...and it was the long start up time and the power switch being located in the rear of the unit.
