It's a system specific thing. If a given amp is fully balanced internally, then balanced headphones should benefit from it.

Yhe 2 bha1s I have are fully balanced. I can't hear a difference, but I like that there is a lot more power for spl purposes that comes out of the balanced socket.

Yes, and some difficult to drive cans enjoy beefy power output a lot

Great set of headphones, I really miss my old 800s and think aobut buying Z1R to pair with EMPY's.

They sound as beautiful as they sound
I'm amazed how much the silver cable changed the sound. The regular cable sounded kind of loose/not as clear. Silver cable + the softer pads is just magic to my ears.

After owning the Empyeans for a few months l can say I am very happy with my purchase. They are pretty much a perfect headphone in my books. Still can't believe I spent so much on headphones! But I don't regret it.

Also I have read many times they don't mix well with tubes, well I disagree. I have been using them with the Feliks euforia otl and the sound is beautiful.

I've just picked up a WA22 which I had no intention of using with my Empyrean, but i've read a few times now that tubes and Empy's are great.

Just need to pickup a single ended cable (mine came with XLR). I'm going to assume the Meze silver cable would work best here considering the tube pairing?
