New Head-Fier
Just bought the Empyrean and join the club, nice meeting you all here.
This headphone together with cayin n8 brass black is so good and the colour perfectly complement each other.
I'm not using the Meze upgrade cable, but am using silver cables with Empy. I prefer the bit of brightness they add.Anyone using the meze upgrade cable?
The store i went to only have the copper one for demo. I'm looking forward to ordering one but not sure how the silver cable sound.
Doing my own little comparison now.
Would be really interested to hear your thoughts. Long-term, I'd love to get a second high-end pair of headphones to complement my Empyreans, and ZMF's stuff has jumped out at me.
The ones that jump out at me are the hd800 and the he1000v2 or v3 (more controlled than the v2)Would be really interested to hear your thoughts. Long-term, I'd love to get a second high-end pair of headphones to complement my Empyreans, and ZMF's stuff has jumped out at me.
I think you have to give Verite close to 200hrs of burn in before you do comparison.Doing my own little comparison now. The big problem is I like them both for different reasons. I do wish there were more pad options available for the Empyrean. I am having a hard time dialing in the best sound with either pad. Just wish there was one that had the best qualities of both.
Nice headphone to listen to and keep calm like Buddh. They will get smoother and better with time. Give them some break in time.Got this in the mail today :
They are amazing !
I’m coming from a 400€ 2nd hand pair of Beyerdynamic T1.2 though and my first thoughts are that although they might be a clear upgrade they are not 7,5 times better for the money ^^
Maybe 2 but yeah they sound absolutely gorgeous !!! The presence is incredible. I get shivers listening to the Ensemble Organum, on their Album « le chant des templiers »
1st track : Antiphona « Crucem sanctam » on Qobuz
I think Meze is working on a new hybrid pad.My first thought would be...... are there any more pads, even by third parties? Meze has the best pad changing system there is and yet have only two pads. I find the leather pads have the best tone, but lousy soundstaging, where most of the image is confined to the center. The Alcantra pads have much better soundstaging but it sounds like the mids drop out, and the bass gets a little tubby. I do prefer the Alcantra pads for now but it would be nice to see more choices, especially since they already have the best pad changing system out there.

They both have their strength. However Verite does have bigger soundstage and has air between instruments. Big round cups do help. Also Verite pairs well with full tube amp.
I think Meze is working on a new hybrid pad.
Someone posted it few months back.
