Ha, have I opened Pandora's box?

I used to own a pair of LCD X and they had the crinkle flexing sound that seem pretty common with Audeze headphones. My Empyreans don't crinkle, but I can hear the flexing.

The crinkle is normal with a lot of brands planar drivers AFAIK.

Yeah, I've heard the same about most planars, and that it's linked to the pressure change.

I've just not heard many people speak about it with the Empyrean is all, and it seems to be a new issue for me. I was more trying to gauge how common it was with other owners.

A bit over 2 weeks now since I had my Empy. Been downloading FLACs here and there. Interestingly, there are some music that I really liked before but not so much anymore because all those extra sounds suddenly made the music too overwhelming to listen to. I'm able to hear extra details thanks in part to upgraded dac/amp. I tried my older headphones and they did get significant improvements too but of course the Empy beat all of them in all categories especially comfort.

Amp and silver cables have been ordered. Super excited to push these headphones further!

HeadAmp GS-X Mini

I had the GSX Mini for several months and ,while I had no complaints, I found it somewhat underwhelming. I now have a TT2 and find it a great pairing with the Empy's as well as VO. Pendant arriving today for a tube option. Currently using a LP.
