Has anyone tried EQing the Meze Empyran for Harman Target?

Not that I think they 'need' any EQ, I'm just curious since getting the RME ADI-2 Dac that has the 5 band parametric EQ.

Can someone tell me how bad / good the noise leakage and sound isolation is? I know it's open but there's certainly varying grades of leakage in the open category.

Sound isolation I'd say is virtually zero in my experience. Just put mine on and I can clearly hear the TV about 10 meters away.
Noise leakage isn't as bad, but these aren't the type of headphone I'd personally use while sitting next to someone (like in an office environment). I did use them sitting next to my wife one night, but she said she could clearly hear everything I was listening to. I don't listen at loud volumes either.

I always admire the amazing build quality of these headphones. And the comfort and sound are top notch too. These headphones should be in the summit subforum..

Beautiful photo, you really bring out the essence, the Empyrean is so appealing under your camera.

Could any Empyrean owners compare them to the Sennheiser headphones like the HD58X, 600, 6XX, etc.? I own the Elex, and while it does many things better than my 58X, it does lose out on some natural tonality and vocal intimacy that the Sennheisers have always excelled in. I'm wondering if the Empyrean is comparable in any way to the Sennheiser sound signature. Of course, the price difference is drastic so I expect better technical performance and planar bass. I'll have to find some way to try out the Empyrean at a store or through a loaner tour at some point.

If your a fan of the forward focal treble then the empyrean is not for you. If you enjoyed the hd 6xx/650 then you will enjoy the empyreans.

I own and enjoy the HD800S and also enjoy the Empyrean (I also preferred the HD600 to the HD650). It's easy to adapt to a different signature.

I do prefer the smooth treble of the 6XX over the Elex, as the Elex can get peaky at times. Good to hear the Meze is similar to the Sennheisers in that regard. I’m not a fan of hightened treble detail. Also, based on what I’m hearing from reviewers, the Empyrean seems to have laid back but still present treble.
