So any FR measurements yet?

They sound quite energetic, elevated in the upper mids/lower treble. I would also love to see an FR chart.

Do you think it's more elevated than the harman target in that region?
Yes, that's how it sounds to me. I might be wrong though. Bring on those measurements..😊

Yeah, i think the discussion was much healthier than other recent launches because there was no FR graph posted.
I dunno we still had a very toxic discussion about the totally normal pads...

It's head-fi, all new release discussions start out pretty unhealthy

I would definitely want to see a FR graph for these. It helps me evaluate the tuning and the presence in the 1-3 kHz range is very important to me. I often find that is where I have to apply EQ to compensate for dips in the FR.

It's like you are enjoying an amazing, great tasting outdoor BBQ pigout, and then the host brings out the "Nutritional Facts" info sheet.

Who's judging? Many people enjoy music. It is they who are most often "judged".

When the graphs appear, many people stop enjoying their new toy and start questioning it if "flaws" appear. Just saying.

Haha, so true. Judging is a part of human nature/nurture and gonna happen whether we want or not. Reading through here and a couple other threads, realizing how many judgements and biases we do have (including myself) and how we go forth with the preaching/belief/faith. But the engagement and debate lies in those judgements, so have at it. And while I don't get being hung up on graphs, must admit it's fun and entertaining to read the quibbling over it. As well as the whininess on certain aspects of a HP or whatever, plus backing arguments. I whine, you whine, we all whine, but we still love this hobby, so all good in the end.

What’s the difference in build quality between the Z1R, Z7m2 and Liric?
Well the build quality is great on the Liric, as well as the other Meze headphones, it's the only company that compares to the Z1R in my opinion (haven't seen LCD-5 and Abyss stuff). You can tell the Liric are portable headphones since the pads are pretty compact (think "thin" not "narrow"). They don't isolate external noise as well, it's closer to having open backs than the Z1R in my opinion.
The headband seems a lot more durable on the Liric, since it's a textile material on the interior, whereas my on the Z1R the leather on the interior of the headband has cracked after 5 years of daily use. They look like they were made to last in rougher environments than the Z1R.
Both of them scream quality compared to the rest of the industry imo. Both the Liric and the Elite make you want to own them from a build quality perspective alone. Rolex level attention to detail. The case for the Liric is also gorgeous, as well as the cups. The build quality puts Susvara and other flagships to shame.
One thing to note is that while i'm at 6/10 adjustments on the Z1R, i have to extend the Liric almost to the maximum level.
I didn't end up keeping the Liric , but hope a flagship level closed back will follow soon.

Any word on the release and availability of proper upgrade cables for Liric? I’d love to see Liric compatible versions of the Braided Furukawa PCUHD cables Meze sells for Empyrean.

Edit: I purchased the 4.4mm upgrade cable for 99 Neo/Classics to use in the meantime but I can’t stand the way the cable curls and retains those curls/bends.

Dual 3.5mm is widely available through numerous aftermarket makers - Forza, Arctic Cables, Plussound, etc.
