Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

The iFi Go Link may work out for you, it's far more portable than having a dongle AND adapter to carry.
Thanks for the suggestion! I went with the iFi Go Bar because I think my Lirics will benefit from the balanced connection gain increase. My walk to work is along relatively busy streets—especially heading home.

So I have the lirics for about a month, do you guys think it's ok to transport these without a protective case ? The case is very big , I just want to take these with a pouch and not the case in a backpack

Very sturdy, shouldn’t be an issue

I would make sure they are placed in the top of the backpack and around soft things. The leather-like material on the back of the cans is rather delicate, also, the memory foam-like pads can deform of left in an unnatural state for extended periods of time. I had to replace a pair of pads already and the leather like material is peeling away (as if coming unglued) from the back of the cans. I always use the case and would recommend that, but because sometimes I don’t have the case with me and need to travel with them in my backpack, these are some of the steps I take. BTW, the pair that has had the issues is about 1.3 years old. The pads were replaced about 9 months old.

Do you think these are sturdy enough? Don't care for minor scuffs and normal use wear but I really want these for years
Sturdy, yes. But I would follow what @Kristofa said.
Personally, I wouldn't put these in a backpack with no protective case. The case is indeed bulky (as are the cans), but I prefer to carry them like that and have peace of mind.

Hi there,
does anyone have experience with the Dekoni Sheepskin Ear Pads?

I took one for the team.

Recently re-bought Liric and I think it's even more comfortable then I remembered. Also bought a pair of the Dekoni pads and swapped pads an hour ago.

Stock pads a softer, fit like a glove, sound amazing but are horrible with sweat (pleather).
Dekoni pads are firmer, feel like any other Dekoni pads and made of leather.

The swap is almost always irreversible. The chance that you destroy the glue/sticky tape layer of the pads is nearly almost guaranteed.

On to the changes!
I had to re-adjust the fit. Dekoni pads are less thick, the result is that the rods are less extended.
Ah the feel of leather! I prefer it over pleather any day of the week but respect other opinions.
The FR is changed but not overly dramatic. Here is my EQ using de RME ADI-2 DAC:

- Add some sub bass, but the difference in bass presence is less then expected
- Add 2.5dB at 4khz to bring back some of the missing upper-mid presence
- Reduce 2.5db at 10khz. The dekoni pads add more presence there.

These changes are done based on the FR on Dekoni's site:

Are they worth the effort / destroying the OG pads? I would say: no. So far I readjusted the FR to have it more in line with the OG pads but without the extra energy around 10khz was not to my liking. Comfort wise both OG and Dekoni pads are above most if not all closed-back headphones.

The Liric comfort with stock pads is outstanding.
Even above Elite for my headshape.
I also love the feeling of the stock pads.

These measurements look weird, I can't measure such a bass roll off on my pair.
I wonder what type of measurement rig Dekoni used for this

When I first bought the Liric I sent it back to the store saying that Meze got a friend but not an owner of the Liric... at that time.
I have gotten and sold both the Empyrean and 109 Pro since and still own the Elite. My idea of high-end music enjoyment really connects with what Meze is doing. Companies that forget about comfort won't be seeing my money any time soon.
With Elite as my go-to daily driver it was time to rejoin the Liric family and I'm glad I did!

So you repurchased the Liric? Now that you have lived with the Elite so long and (perhaps) didn’t jive with the Liric the last go ‘round, what are your thoughts of the Liric now and how does it compare with your experience with the Elite? I want to hear the Elite so bad, but there are no locations in my city that carry them for demo.
