Meze Audio LIRIC - The portable isodynamic hybrid array headphone

I'd love to hear impressions of Cayin C9 -> LIRIC, if anyone has that chain.
This is my go-to setup for the Liric. It's a fantastic combo - I find the C9 on tube mode gives a little more depth and texture to the mids on the Liric. Overall presentation is very cohesive.

Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but can an owner confirm if the Furutech 3.5mm (picture below) will fit into the 3.5mm TS jack of the Liric?

Furutech CF-735 SM (R) work, too.

@Malevolent
How are the vocals between the HP-3 and Liric? Are the vocals in the Liric exaggerated?
The LIRIC has vocals that are more defined and crisp than on the HP-3. The Klipsch has a pronounced layer of warmth throughout its signature, and this is manifested most prominently in its midrange and with vocals; thus, there is a lot of body and bloom. On the other hand, the LIRIC has a cleaner presentation, which affords vocals a tad more definition and clarity. If you enjoy your singers performing with authority and vigor, with a huge scoop of effusive warmth, the HP-3 would probably be the better choice.

Thanks, that's what I need to know. I like how the HP-3 does to vocals and I value that. I mean, my Beyerdynamic T5p.2 is the least favorite one because the vocals are exaggerated, like talking out loud which I don't like. Anyway, the HP-3 indeed stays one of the most pretty headphones out there.

In balanced 4.4mm, R01 can't handle the Elite, but the Liric is enjoyable. I won't go into more detail, hopefully you'll find that out soon.
A follow up to this, if I may. I'm now running the Liric from the R01 in balanced mode. Indeed - enjoyable it is. I would say in terms of power and overall handling, the R01 just about makes it work. 75 would be my cap on the volume; anything beyond would be too much. But it's not about sheer power, but instead about dynamics, etc. And I think the R01 certainly brings the Liric to life - you got the wide sense of space, the excellent imaging, and a sense of fast attack (really bringing out the Liric's excellent sub-bass). More than that, the timbre is excellent - smooth and detailed at once, a rare feat.

I would still be interested in hearing how the E02 and Liric pairs - any reflections on that from @Andykong would be welcome :)

Glad we share very similar impression on R01 and Liric. :beerchug:

The E02 will improve the dynamic and soundstage on the expense of magical R-2R natural presentation. Details is very good on E02, maybe a tag better then R01, when you listen to complicated or demanding music passage, E02 can be a better choice.

It's a review embargo. Reviewers get the headphones ahead of time and agree not to release their reviews until a certain date so details don't get out before launch. So it doesn't mean the reviews are rushed, reviewers may have had plenty of time to get their reviews together, they just couldn't release them ahead of launch.
Many thanks for the clarification. I was unaware that headphones were sent to reviewers in advance. I assumed each and every one were acquired through a de facto purchase.

What would happen if they did release their findings and released a sparkling review in advance of the actual release?

Depends on how mad the company was about them breaking their agreement, but it's possible they wouldn't receive future headphones to review from that company.

Thanks! Hope to pair up with Liric soon. Sounds an appealing partner to the R01.

First impression...I really like the openess and unique sound of Grado, so it is difficult for me to appreciate other phones. I need to spend a day or two with them to be able to enjoy them. Liric is a clear winner in my book, out of the box. Of course not a Grado, different sound but still...What's important for me seems to be there. It has rythm, pace, it is not veiled. I tried it with a hybrid amp (tube+MosFet - TMP Ant) and a push-pull tube amp (Trafomatic Head 2). Altought it is a planar I clearly prefer the tube amp.

The bass was also too strong with the hybrid. With the Trafomatic it balances nicely, vocals are not subdued at all, still enough energy and speed. Bass is also very nice, with emphasis on sub region. Really good with RNB/Electro too. Highs are smooth, not a wrong step there.

Detail is also very good, but close backs have always have some special effect. Isolation...the Dan Clark Ether C Flow isolates better I think. The clamp force is a bit too much, but I think it will loosen up. Build quality is top of course.

I am glad I bought it. I need a closed back in my new place and I think the Liric is exactly what I needed.

Well...I have the HP2i (very rare!), the HEMP, the RS2e the GS1000i and the RS2e. I don't know...maybe a 225x? Most people like the new x drivers, the HEMP is easily accessible enough. It has more bass as the older series. The 225x has the same 4th generation driver is ligther and cheaper as the HEMP. But Grado is not for everyone. It's more soul then hi-fi. I was just listening to this song from Pavarotti (with James Brown). It's a man' world. On Best of Pavarotti. You see, it sounds sublime with the Liric. Really. The I put on the HEMP and there was much less heft to the song. Less detail and it is less confortable to wear. But when Pavarotti starts to sing. It's just...pure energy, it soars. Presence pure. No other brand makes this for me. They thread more carefully, refined. Grado is pure and raw (in the mids). I don't know if it helps.

I had briefly that one too. The deathstar. But it was way too heavy and wieght distribution was also very...strange. On top of that I think what I got had driver failure on both sides(?). I mean no bass. At all. My GS1000i is a bass monster compared to what I heard from those (brand new) PS2000e's. I hope I will have a chance one day to hear one which functions correctly. Bad luck I guess, I sent it back. But enough off-topic I guess.
