Meze really knows how to design audio equipment!

And that AK380SS... Such a beauty as well. I actually still think it's better designed than the newer AK stuff.

My 380SS is slightly trimmed and polished

Later... still burning

Hi, I’m a happy owner of the Rai Solo, so I’m extremely eager to know how do these compare.

I’m aware they’re more than three times the price and probably closer to the Penta. But, since they’re also a single DD, there may be similarities to the Rai Solo.

Advar are absolutely gorgeous!

This i can tell from this early stage, they sound quite different, warmish vs bright.

Why?
It is not bright but the treble is extended and the earphone is highly resolving, articulated with plenty of energy and sparkle.
Just not bright or forward.

None of that sounds like a warmish sound to me...

I just don't like the "warm" sound.
Perhaps it is that the Advar is not really "warm" or "warmish".

I'll have to wait until I can test it, or at least see the graph. I'll keep it on the radar for now.

I wouldn't confuse warmish with treble extension.
The Rai solo is forward sounding and maybe the most bright and less relaxed Meze creation.
Advar is relaxed, full bodied , liquid, smoother but still highly resolving.

Hopefully you can bring in a comparison with Rai Penta
