Meze Audio’s newest single-DD IEM - ADVAR

Tested with WM1ZM2, single ended stock cable. Some quick impressions:

Bass is very addicting, very good slam and extension but quite controlled, doesn't leak into the mids. The uppermids/treble is slightly more forward than the mids. It is relatively thin and light (although not piercing at all) and feels a bit disjointed for me, especially since the bass is comparatively very full-bodied. Sound is smooth across all frequency ranges.

Soundstage is quite wide in width but not so much in depth. Resolution is good, can get cluttered at times with inaccurate imaging, but more than capable this price point.

Scales extremely well with the C9. With it the said thinness is gone and the full FR is full-bodied.

It is slightly to the warm and musical side. I'd say it is a great buy at this price point, but you'll have to listen for yourself whether you like the lighter uppermids.

We'll see that's the thing. "Beginning of May" isn't a date. It's just odd there isn't an actual release date.
How about May 2022? Will this be more acceptable? Although it definitely won't tell you more information.

Are you angry about something?

Of course not, I am learning. If someone thinks "Beginning of May" is incorrect, we need to find a better way to present ourselves correctly, but within the risk that we are willing to take.

No need to explain, this pandemic has been severe effect on everyone and everything.
Nothing is certain anymore.

First of all I wasn't asking for an explanation.

It's odd to contact a company offering preorders on a product with a 30 day launch estimate. Particularly if said company isn't located in China.

Meze isn't even saying beginning of May.

Thanks for the info Andy! Hope you have a great day!

Thank you very much for your patience. We hope we can do better, but we get burned badly by the chaotic logistic in the past months, let's hope we proved ourselves wrong and can deliver the Advar to our dealer much faster than our worst-case scenario.

Got mine yesterday. I love those buds. I mostly listen to metal (the harder and faster, the better). They are amazing. The best inears I heard till now. A few months ago I have owned the IE 900 by Sennheiser. The were really good too, but the bass of the Advar ist stellar. I connect them to the Chord Mojo 2 at home or the Violectric Chronos on the go.

Interesting words.

I also like metal, but rather the old school hard, heavy and thrash. I also listen to a lot of progressive rock.

I think the IE900 does not have the best tonality for these musical genres, since has very muted mids.

Bloom Audio did a review where they say the Advar is perfect for metal and rock. Everything with electric and acoustic guitars. Looks like they are right.

With bass slightly south of neutral, tasty forward mids and great treble extension without fatigue, it should be!
The advar Bass is slightly south of neutral?
