The regular 598s must be rare, they cost more now?

Not rare at all. The whole deal is a marketing thing. It has been know for awhile that the SE would be this price on Black Friday.

Just got mine, too! :)

Don't forget the burn-in, friends! From my experience, an out-of-box HD598 will be beaten by a 1000-hours HD518 in almost every aspect. After approx. 200 hours, your HD598 will be ready to blow some TOTLs out of water

So what happens when you need replacement earpads or head band?  Do you have to buy the regular HD598 colored pieces? :)  I don't see the special edition parts listed on Sennheisers website.

Yup, very rare to see Canada scoring the best deals nowadays due to bad currency. I am very happy to have found this deal. A bunch of my friends including I were needing a new pair of headphones. I wanted some IEMs at first and was thinking of getting either the Vsonic GR07 for $110 or the Hifi Man Re400 for $88. But for some HD 598 and in BLACK ( Really wanted a colour besides the original white/brown) for only $124, the choice was a no brainer.
