Mine came in the other day, and it actually was very easy getting them in my ears.  It felt weird since I'm not use to tri flanges yet, but they literally just slid in, a little bit of a twist got the housing in further and then I just wrapped the cable up and over my ear.  Took only a few seconds and was pretty automatic.

Anyway, these are going to be perfect for gym use, as well as laying down and listening to music.  Can't imagine getting better for the price.

On your m50 vs m6 comment, I pretty much agree. The m50 trounce the m6 on all fronts technically, and are a more enjoyable listen. That said, I prefer the presentation style of the m6 (more V shaped) vs the relatively more balanced m50. Now, I still would rather listen to the m50 any day of the week, but if the m50 had a bit more sub-bass and treble energy (maybe like the ultrasone hfi-780) and a little more soundstage it would make the perfect closed headphone for me.

Have you heard the 580s?  Sounds like what you might be looking for.  Best quality Bass I have heard in my sig.  I would have to AB the treble w/ the M50 but I think it was more energetic, don't remember how the sparkle quality was between the two.

Just another vouch for the m6.. As stated they are super comfy and stick in place very well because of the memory wire. They're great for the gym, stay in during running, lifting, and even my boxing sessions. Most of all I dig the sound a LOT which is amazing for 20 dollars since there's a good amount of bass and balanced everything else. The only other IEM I own is the Westone 1 and they stack up decently considering the price difference.

How do these compare to Sennheiser's CX400-II and the V-Moda Vibe? Are these an improvement over those? Has anyone compared them?

I somewhat enjoy the sound of the CX400-II but the v-moda's highs and mids are just terrible to my ears, they seem very recessed and lack definition, the bass is ok.

What is the answer to this question?

Very nice review. Although, I do have one question. Between the M6, Super.Fi 3, and iM-590 which is the absolute best in terms of SQ and which would you say is the best overall (i.e. comfort, micro-phonics, etc.) I ask, because the Super.Fi 3 can be had for about the same price nowadays. I listen to Hip-Hop and Orchestra and my source is a Cowon S9.

^With the memory wire removed, the m6 are the most comfortable IEMs I've ever used. The im-590 however aren't bad, though the ridiculous nylon cable has awful microphonics, even with the included shirt clip. Never tried the super.fi 3, but it's body shape leads me to believe that it would be the least comfortable and ergonomic of the lot.

As for SQ, it truly is a matter of preference. The im-590 has a very slight edge over the m6 on a technical level, for instance, but I very much prefer the presentation style of the m6 over the im-590. YYMV.

You had an older M6?  I have no issues w/ the newer M6 wire.

I had issues with the 2nd version and the current version. While it's not as bad as the 2nd and every single earphone in existence is pretty much better than the 2nd due to it's dumb memory wire that refuses to move I still couldn't get a great fit with them. I think memory wire just isn't for me. I tried them for like a week and couldn't get a proper fit.

I guess we all hear things differently in more ways than one.

Had no idea people had issues w/ the current memory wire...

The current memory wire is very well designed, so far as memory wire is concerned. It's just that I don't like memory wire.

Besides, if dfkt can allow himself to remove the memory wire from his UE11s, I think I can be forgiven for removing it from my M6.

So far they're my only experience with memory wire, but I thought it worked very well.  Very comfortable iems, love the wire as it is.  I bought it during the recent amazon sale, so it's whatever version that is.

I've had two with wire. Neither one worked for me or fit me well. The IEM's that don't have wire work much better for me.
I wear glasses and there's only so much room back there. Also, microphonics of the temple-pieces tapping on the wire encasement. It's like The Raven. "Tap, tap, tapping at my IEM's"

That's a shame.  The M6 is my least microphonic IEM.  I'm sure I would feel different if I was blind like you Shane.

Well, neither of my nephews wear glasses, so as gifts to them, these shouldn't be much of an issue.
I have also been considering the UM3x lately, but they too have wires and sheaths. Ugh...

(Glad you knew my Poe-etic reference. And yes, but the less I can see... the better my hearing becomes. )
