Mayberry's Trippin Balls: Fairfax, CA cross-coastal meet.

First of all, Min, I cannot believe the Zanden is down! Terrible news, but I am sure it can be resolved. Good luck man!

The last couple posts reminded me that I have a few lost & found items to post. If any are yours, just PM me and we can arrange a solution.

1. Large brick power supply that has a DIY looking connector at the component end. It was in the side room with the TV and green couch. It was near where bigguy, blessingx and others were set up. I can post more details later (such as the name, ratings, etc).

2. Jacket that I believe is Ori's.

3. Collapsible umbrella.

The mystery Stefan Audio Art tail end was claimed by JP#s. Not bad for a meet with 40 people. Let me know if there is anything else missing that I can keep my eye out for.

Al, did you happen to find a black short sleeve Polo shirt neatly hanging from the top bunk of our sleeping quarters? I laid it out to wear to the airport and the Giant game, err...I mean Super Bowl drained all of my memory resources.

I think so Aaron, but not certain. I did find what I think is you UE t-shirt. I'll check for the other as well. I remember it being on the bunk and asking about it, but that was probably Monday when you were already gone.

Queen Vicki, of course, she probably figured nobody would suspect her having just received her crown. The perfect crime, until the DOTU gets on the case.

Either that or it fell out during the many times I was taking gear in and out of my backpack during the trip back home.

Embarrassingly, I found the Enigma Oracle in with my stuff!? Not sure how that happened, but I will send it to you tomorrow Mike.

Yeah that one's mine (it appears that I gave the shirt off my back to be allowed to attend this meet):

A week later and you are still hosting (damn, I miss those "evil" and "very evil" emoticons)

Thanks Al.

Clearly we picked the right Head-Fi sister-city in Santiago de Campostela! They truly had the most beautiful meet I have ever seen. Here are some of carlosgp's amazing pics ported over from their impressions thread.

. You can see some impressions about their meet in the Mayberry thread. It was faboulous, probably the best meet I've seen in Head-Fi

¡Salud!

A cacheira do porco, boiled pig head. It is very nice, better than bacon

A delicious "lacón", cured foreleg. It is a kind of salty cured ham that is served mainly boiled, like in our "cocido" (cocido means boiled).

Orella (pig ear), lengua (tongue), jarrete (knuckle?), gallina (hen)...

Good! The moment we were waiting for. Aguardiente de hierbas, blanca, vella, licor café...

Salud to our californian brothers and headfiers in general! I have to say that there were many toasts like this one

Now, if I only knew how to say "toga" in Spanish, I could really end this post well. . .

Well, we say "toga" too
smily_headphones1.gif
. Not in vain spanish and galician are romance languages, not like your barbaric tongue XDXDXD. But there was not enough drinking for the toga part. Maybe the next time, as soon as we decide to meet for several days like you. Now I know why you did it

Well, English might be a bit barbarian, but at least we're not Vulgar!

(According to your wiki cite, "Romance languages have their roots in Vulgar Latin, the popular sociolect of Latin spoken by soldiers, settlers and merchants of the Empire, as distinguished from the Classical form of the language used by the Roman intellectuals, and normally in writing.")
