Mainline: New Bottlehead Premium Headphone Amp!

It would be nice to compare it to the Balancing Act or WA2.  I've heard the Balancing Act twice at meets and while it was a very good amp I was more impressed with the performance of my own SEX amp for the price.  I remember the Smack being very clean sounding back when I got to demo it so I anticipate the Mainline will be even more resolving.  Next set step is to figure out a good headphone worthy of pairing with the amp.  Last time I owned the HD800 it was too thin and bright for my liking but I'm willing to give it another go.

I will make sure to share my impressions here once I complete my build and have a chance to do some serious comparative listening.  It's going to be a little while though given that the kits aren't set to ship until late June, and then there will be build time.  For that matter, I thoroughly enjoyed my last build and don't plan to rush the process.  The anticipation/delayed gratification make it that much better when your voltages ultimately check out and you can sit back, drink in hand, and enjoy the music.

after all the accolades that the Crack has received, i've been keen on hearing a Bottlehead amp.

Interesting description, and plenty of adjustments built in to fit with collections of gear if necessary.

A little surprised that a fairly inexpensive bottlehead badge isn't included standard with the top of the line kit offering.  One would assume you'd like to make sure it recognizable to help spread the word!

You can add one on at cost, $6.

Anyone that use a soldering iron can build a Mainline or any of the Bottlehead amp's. They come with a comprehensive step by step manual and there isn't anything such as DMM measuring or bias adjusting etc.

Just wanted to let folks know that we got the last critical part in this afternoon, and that the first Mainline kits will begin packing and shipping early next week.
