Mother of Runes, Soul Warden, doubtless one and Rotlung reanimator are all in my deck, and annoy the screw out of my opponents.

The red dragon is probably worth about 40 bucks.

The black/green/white has 33 rares in it. Back when Ravinca was standard legal it was worth in the 300 range. I built it over several months, I had a job and very little expenses. I think I was buying singles every week.

My broken deck is all blue counterspell with stuff like this in it:


My friends refused to play me when I used it, so I put it away. I built those decks over 2 years ago. I haven't really played much since then.

I'm planning on putting a budget sliver deck together. What do you guys think of this list:

I've always had a knack for playing tribal/creature-type decks, and even though not many people play clerics I managed to hone mine into something deadly.

Slivers have always been on the back of my mind, and so I want to build a reasonably competitive sliver deck without blowing a shedload of money on cardboard crack.

i am (hopefully). i have jury duty that week (at 19 years old, what the heck?!) and i have a high number, so i'll either be called in toward the end of the week....the suspense sucks.

there's a store nearby where first price for the limited tournament is upwards of 25 boosters from the new set for the $25 entrance fee. my favorite part, personally, is the draft. costs more but it's the best.

white looks like it will be ridiculously overpowered in limited, with green having a strong presence as well.

Spinneret Sliver is kind of a meta choice. If you run up against a lot of flyers, then by all means, but it would almost be better to run blue to get winged sliver and counters. Essentially, counter sliver. The problem is that your slivers don't have any way of punching through. If your opponent has blockers, all they're going to do is chump or stack blockers to take out your most important slivers (muscle/sinew).

Otherwise, it's all solid choices, just not how I would build it (I don't like to thrust too much of my opinion on other deck builders who make smart choices). I would almost cut the spinneret and run giant growth for further combat trickery. Also, more duals would help. After M10 comes out, painlands are gonna be CHEAP!

I wouldn't mind buildling a 3 color deck to run Blue in there as well, but I'm not too sure how to manage my mana base for such a deck since I've only ever played with 2 color decks.

What are painlands?

Go into the gatherer and look up the rare lands in 10th edition.

Yavimaya Coast is an example of a painland...you take one damage whenever you tap it for mana, otherwise you can tap it for colorless.
