Well, you'll get to hear plenty more next Saturday.  See you there.
See you, can't wait, do the LCD2/3s scale well with new amps?

They are very good at low volume for me given that they are closed and isolate so well. The comfort is off the charts good. The weight is about the same as the he400 with the MD being just a touch heavier. Yet, the comfort on the MD is somewhere around 2x better. I'm quite sensitive to weight and clamp and the MD is just about perfect IMO.

The tonality was improved a good bit with the Alpha Pads. The voicing is very natural and lifelike.

The MDs actually weight less than the HE-4, which feel much lighter than the 400s. Yet, as you said, the MDs feel heavier on hands (and on the head) than the 4s so the resulting feeling should be quite close to the 400s.

Ou think the weight is not as well balanced on the MDs.

How would somone compare these to an HD600, or a KRK-KNS8400?

I listened to the krk's once before i was all into this at a trade show, and they frankly blew my mind in the natural sound of the intruments.
I havent heard the HD600's, but i have a chance to get B-stock ones at like 200 and i can buy used-ish Mad Dogs for around 220.

Decisions! Im looking for some spacious sound, but not at the expense of some hearable bass.

so, HD600 vs Mad Dogs vs KRK 8400's vs maybe Srh-840's?

I've only had HD600, and I'd pick Mad Dogs over those any day.

Same here. Much preferred the MD over my HD600.

Didn't the Sennheisers get an A+ rating and rank high on the big review thread on this forum? What amp were you guys using with the HD 600s? I am interested in the Mad Dogs and am wondering how would they compare with electronic/house/trance/EDM music to headphones under the $500 price range such as HD600/650, HE-400, DT880, and AKG K701/Q701.

I used the Objective 2 amp with an iPod classic as a source for the HD600.
I found the detail level of the Mad Dog to be leaps and bounds over the HD600, especially in the treble region. On my last hearing before shipping off the HD600, I noticed the treble sounded a bit more balanced in relativity to the rest of the sound, but despite this, the detail of the Mad Dog is just better. I also prefer the Mad Dog in the area of bass, which I found to be more textured and better extended.

How long do mad dogs take to ship? Placed my order 2 hours ago still no word! Lol joking aside I'm at the order completed stage I want them now! Hate this wait lol.

We've been rather busy this weekend, so orders currently on hand will ship by Wed of this week, best estimate.

I love the Mad Dogs, but properly amped, I'll take the HD600 first, I do believe.

Is the Objective 2 amp not enough to properly amp the HD600 and Mad Dogs?

BobJS, what did you like better on the HD600?

Since the O2 puts out well more than double the power of either of the FiiO's that were mentioned earlier and sits above the 300mW @ 50Ω threshold that has been mentioned several times throughout the history of this thread, the O2 should be perfectly fine with the Mad Dogs or the HD600.  I haven't heard the O2 with either, so it might not, but spec-wise it's fully up to snuff.
