Is new firmware safe to install on OG?

seems like it improves power consumption, on my testing with w2-131 also has better result with new firmwareinstalled on LP W1, so far so good, improved the power consumption imho ! A great update.
cant really prove it tho, since i dont have the equipment to measure the power draw

Just took a look into the firmware Google driver and notice one of the 'firmware update detail explanation' document has the following:

W1_W2_V1.0.4.6_AS W2 adds the same STL option as ACG version: Normal / ACG
Firmware update comes with some level of risk, do not update unless necessary. For example, W1_W2_V1.0.4.6_AS is based on the previous firmware version with an added compatibility to ACG version to form an universal package only. Please contact customer service immediately when facing firmware updater issue and we will provide technical support ASAP.

yep that last line is very interesting, though no STL : ACG option can be found on my W2-131 with the 1.0.4.8 firmware, probably what they mean is for the ACG version to have Normal sound tuning like normal W2 / W2-131

As far as I know, W2-ACG always has the option to change between Normal / ACG sound though.

or anyone else who already flash their W2 to 1.0.4.8 can confirm is your unit have the ACG option?
I have managed to update the firmware to 1.0.4.8 but I cannot update the windows driver so my W2 will not play music because is not recognised. Can't install the driver, it starts then it says to connect device and click ok to finish installation.
I am sure is my old laptop Asus and not the driver itself.

Yes I uninstalled the old driver first before trying the install the driver. I even restored the laptop to older point. I need to see why it doesn't allow me to install it. Maybe is not compatible with my x64 Windows 10. But it will not install even the older windows driver.
Hi!I have 1.0.4.8 on both my W2 OG and W2-131, no dice.
I have a W2 ACG device.
Can I install fw number 1.0.4.8 on this device? Now it has 1.0.3.6.
