Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (The new W2-131 Version is Available, Related Info on Post #1)

Completely new to this but I’ve just bought a W2-131 used and have some noob questions that I’m sure have already been discussed and explained here, so sorry for that:

1. What is latest firmware version for the W2-131 and where can I download it?

2. Is it possible to update on a Mac or iOS device or just via Windows / Android?

3. What exactly is the firmware update procedure on this little thing?

Edit: Yeah, it was early here… found it on page 1 Nevermind

Before updating the firmware, do not forget to make sure that the data cable is normal. my way was to transfer files from PC to phone. if the firmware is unsuccessful, it is likely to restore the device for a long time. There are standard procedures provided by the manufacturer for this. just read the forum. already written many times.

yes of course i already read the first page, just wanted to point out that on their baidu site there is already firmware 1.0.4.8 (2023.1.8) released, but i can't download the file because it needs baidu ID and to register baidu ID it seems to be needing a local China mobile phone number

so i guess we're stuck with 2021 released firmware version then?

OK guys, please check the Google drive folder listed on the first post again.

The updated FW file is that 1.0.4.8_as file. Another new file is the Chinese read.me file for the update contents.

Will do it later today. I think it mentioned something like adding the ACG profile and better support for the HID function.

thanks, just finish updating it to the latest version, mine come with version 1.0.3.6 from factory.

edit :

uh.....
after flashing i just read the release notes using google translate it said something like this

"W1_W2_V1.0.4.6_AS W2 adds the STL option of ACG version: Normal / ACG

Updating the firmware is risky. If it is not necessary, try not to flash the firmware. For example, W1_W2_V1.0.4.6_AS is only compatible with the ACG version on the basis of the previous version, and it is just a flash package.
In case of problems with flashing the firmware, please contact our after-sales colleagues as soon as possible, and we will provide you with technical support services as soon as possible."

no info about the 1.0.4.8 though, and my w2-131 seems working just fine with the 1.0.4.8 version

W2 OG here, W1_W2_V1.0.4.8_AS.bin works fine.

I haven't updated yet but I will soon, I have the W2. The changes that we know so far with the latest firmware V1.0.4.8AS is the ACG profile and better support for HID function right? I wonder why is not on the Luxuryprecision website?

no new ACG profile on my W2-131.
though the latest version is working fine with my w2-131

i think the update is for the ACG version to have option to choose between ACG and Normal STL?

yeah sadly LP didnt update their websites apparently, making it harder for us to download and reading the release notes
