Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a 0.78 2-pin to 3.5mm IEM cable with good wearing comfort and nice build quality, low impedance would be ideal as well. I'm not too concerned about wire material or core count (maybe 4 core would be good). I'd be looking at spending up to around 30 dollars, do you guys have any recommendations?

Cheers

Hi guys! Are there any non-PVC cables? For example, cotton? PVC irritates my ears 😔
There are different option sleeves for cables.

I've seen some use cotton, polyester, paracord, etc on aliexpress. Can't seem to find a specific example atm but they are available.

You could always ask the seller to make the cable with a sleeve.

I found that NiceHCK has some, such as First Touch or BlackDawn. I'll see what they say about cotton, I'll look into these in the meantime.

Which coupons? The ones the stores give you when following them?
nah the ones on the items themselves, example below. I had a bunch of cables from ivipq saved that don't have em anymore

Hi all,

I bought this cable https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806009738918.html when I was a babe in the woods and needed a balanced cable for my hifiman edition XS because I had a dongle DAC whose balanced out gave >1.5x power, so naturally I wanted to run balance. In case you don't want to bother clicking the link, it's

$18
16 Core 99% 7N OCC Earphone Cable For Hifiman Sundara Ananda HE1000se V2 HE6se DEVA he400se Arya He-35x Edition XS LN006747
by a shop called EachDIY

I used it without thinking much about it. It worked! Recently got a SMSL C200 desktop DAC amp with 4.4mm balanced out, but it's only for convenience, not actually balanced. With balanced and single ended outputs being the same, I retried the stock hifiman cable and I was shocked by the difference. The OCC cable is def brighter. What's more the OCC cable seems to be missing a lot of bass. I prefer the stock cable. I'm treble sensitive so prefer warmer sound. I'd been blaming the Fiio KA13 dongle for being bright but maybe the cable deserved some blame too.

Now, the OCC cable has silver (supposedly, how much, I don't know) so it's going to be brighter, but shouldn't the bass be the same? Can the cable reduce the bass? Am I imagining it?

Thanks

(Wish I'd found this thread before.)

My impressions of Tripowin and KBear cables has been ok but not amazing. That said, I have not bought one of these specific cables, or any of their cables in over a year.

If you say your budget, what sound changes you want from the cable, and anything else (colour, thickness, etc), we’ll try to help.
