Title says it all,found some deals and was going to jump on them when I get the money anyone got response graphs? I hear they dont have that classic sennheiser sound that true?

The HD580s sound basically the same as HD600s.

Having owned 2 distinct pairs of HD580 and one HD600 I agree, but only partially.
HD580 sound the same as HD600 provided they have the same drivers (with silver screening).
 
The original (older) HD580 versions sound different from HD600. Less definition and somewhat granier treble.
The differences are not very big, but I would prefer the newer versions by some margin.

I see, would having the HD600 grill change the sound any as opposed to the 580 grill?

I, for one, didn't notice any differences after grill swapping between HD580, 600 and 650.
Other people claim they did, so YMMV.
 
They're not exactly cheap either, so I wouldn't bother.
If it's an aesthetics thing, then just buy the HD600 from the start and save yourself the trouble.

well I found them at a great price in mint condition for less than half the price of the HD600's with the 600 grills.

Can you see the silver just by looking into the cups?  I.e., something I could ask a seller ...
 
All youze guys are driving the prices up. 

  I thought for sure that I had seen a few pair for $120 - $130 a few months ago, and now they are pushing $200.

As for prices and threads like these influencing them ... I don't think it's the case.
 
I have bought a pair of HD580 for 120 euro (shipped and all), which, in my book, is very cheap .
However they were the old version, had a few signs of wear and needed pad replacement.
 
The second pair I've bought was in mint condition, had the new drivers and sounded quite a bit better than the old (and identical to HD600). But these cost me over 160 euro.
 
Overall I must say that HD580 is a bargain of a headphone, but as always, you get what you pay for.

  This is a hobby and sometimes the chase is more fun than the listening, but maybe in this case it would just be easier to get a pair of HD600's.

 yea, I dont have the scratch for the HD600, though I would love them the 580 are more avalibal at this point in time for the price point I found them at.Also will a little dot MKII+ power them? I know it cranks 300mw out at 300 ohms but teh 600 spike to 600 around the mid-bass hump.
