Im a bass freak and im looking for a pair of over ear headphones (hopefully slightly portable) that can deliver brain numbing bass(literally...) And no please don't mention beats by dre. Recommendations? How is the Grado 325is' bass?

Okay, so Grado won't deliver the bass I require. Are there any other headphones that deliver superb bass, are somewhat portable and dont look ugly as crap? I assure im more into sound than looks but I would prefer something that looks at leaaast normal sized (ear muff size is normal fyi).

Another vote for Ultrasone, the HFI 780s are chalk full of bass, along with clarity in the mids and highs. Fantastic can, under $300, easy to drive. Give them a shot.

oh yeah.... sexy as all hell too

Perhaps they do, I can only recommend cans that I have and fit his description "lot's of bass, sub $300", well the 780s have tons, and are great cans in all other aspects as well.
OP should try both, along with other recommendations before buying into a "can X" > "can Z" mantra.

Here is a thread where people say differently, so... the buyer would do well to audition them both

The TMA-1 have remarkable bass, but the Ultrasones would also be an excellent choice.  I have both the TMA-1 and the HFI-780, and while the 780 is more punchy, the TMA-1 has a lot more quantity.

HFI 580 got more bass then 780.  580 > 780  :p

I'd vote for the PRO 750. It has a much more precise bass than my HFI-780. Either way, Ultrasone is the way to go.

Tried the HFI 580 yesterday and it almost satisfied my ears for bass but not enough. boy i must be a crazy brain damage basshead.

Ultrasone HFI 580. Open headphones shouldn't even be considered. I had the Grado SR 325i and it won't satisfy any basshead. The HFI 580 can get very bassy and is one of the most aggressive sounding headphones I know.
