Up until recently I've been using IEM's but now I want some headphones. I listen to metal, using a Cowon C2. I've always used colder more analytical earphones but I want a warmer headphone, I want the music to be fun. Any suggestions? All price ranges please.

A shameless plug, but you could always consider these:

I would suggest a good amp to plug them into.  My original audio setup was a Cowon J3 (still have it), running to a Schiit Lyr, to the LCD-3s.

Just a suggestion...

Cheers!

Some good choices are the ATH M50, HD25-1 II, DT1350

The PX100II would be a good choice. Forget about the Portapro. If you are okay with something closed, consider the JVC HA-S650. Imo it sounds better than the PX100. The HA-S650 has a very warm sound and nice detail. While it is closed, it doesn't isolate so well due to its small size. It is very comfortable.

The PX100 is ok but not very comfortable for extended listening.

Lets try to narrow it down some more, I'm really wanted small, lightweight and a short cable (around 1.2m or 3-4 feet). And it needs to be comfortable for extended periods of listening. Again, good for metal.

Have you considered the HD238/9 ?
I don't know if anyone likes it here, its a bit bright for me, so I use EQ to make it kinda warm. But in general, for metal it can be good I think. Just my opinion, there might be better options.
But its very comfortable, I can use it for long periods without any discomfort.
You can also take a look at the HD 25 II or the Amperior, but they're in higher price range.
