Still no word on price though.

That thing looks awesome.

My only issue is the use of the 4 pin single ended instead of going with two 3 pins. If there is no technical advantage why not go with the more common setup?

This looks very interesting, however I expected to see 2 balanced XLRs on the front facia, does this mean that the MKVI is not really balanced but single ended? If the single XLR is fully balanced through the use of 4 pins, does that mean a conversion cable for us that have dual XLR ends on our balanced headphones?

The input and outputs on the back use fully balanced XLRs so you can have a balanced DAC is input and balanced outs, but are awkwardly placed.

The amp looks good though, it would match nicely with a Stello DA100 Signature balanced DAC. Still, I wonder if it is any better that Headroom's Desktop Balanced amp... time will tell.

No. I read in another thread that in the three pin setup one pin is inactive. So with two 3 pin plugs you only have 4 active pins. Thus you can put them all in one 4 pin XLR. I suspect it would be pretty easy to make a 3 pin to 4pin adapter and vice versa.

Ummm, good question... I don't have the technical background to answer this. I suspect that a 4 pin XLR could work like two 3 pin XLRs, however some of our techincally knowlegable fellow Headfiers may be able to shed some light on this. All of the balanced amps I have seen use two 3 pin XLRs for the headphone connection.

Apologies, misread the post... Cool single XLR with 4 pins is the same as 2 XLRs with 3 pins. Okay, all you need is to get an adpator made up if you already have balanced cans.

It would be thumbs up for the customer service if Little Dot would provide such adapter with that amplifier.

Pretty cool, looking at the original prototype and now the finished product.

Inputs and outputs were paired together in the proto, wonder why they chose to use this setup in the end.
