[Listing] Canadian Companies/Retailers
Sep 1, 2012 at 3:13 PM Post #136 of 243
The other day I went to Canada Computers for probably first time in about a year or so and was very surprised to see that they set up a pretty nice aisle with good selection of Sennheiser, AT, and Grado headphones. Don't think you can demo them or anything but it's a convenient local option if one wants to get headphone directly from a store here in Southern Ontario.

They seemed to also sell most of the Fiio line as well.

Hmm, I had no idea Yorkville was Canadian. And under the umbrella: Traynor, Apex, Applied Research and Technology (ART).

Gramaphone in Edmonton, Alberta. I recently bought some hd800's from there. They sell a bunch of headphones, dac's and amps. I seen beyers 990's and t5's, senns(598 and 650's also), he400's. They are a great bunch of fella's and a pleasure to deal with.

I bought my Grados in Edmonton at the Gramophone. It was a good experience, and started me on this headphone obsession. I'll definitely go back when I have the budget for the next component. I'd like to hear their HD600s and the HiFiMan stuff. Certified Radio has also taken an interest in headphones, and their west store has a listening bar set up with Sennheiser, AKG, Focal, a few fashion brands, and some in ear stuff (in ear wasn't yet available for listening). They're definitely very different shops. I feel Certified is trying to bridge the gap between the serious audiophile and the complete beginner. I didn't talk much with the staff there, just listened to a bunch of phones.

Peak Audio in Halifax, NS is a great retailer. The website doesn't contain a whole lot but they are great to deal with when dealing with headphones or any type of audio.

Yeah if you don't mind paying at lest $50 over retail pricing... Not for me thanks.

You just have to ask them nicely for a discount.

I just purchased the HE 400 for $390 from them. That is way cheaper than I could get from anywhere else especially after the import/customs fees and shipping are added.

I tweeted them for a price on the SR225i's and was told they had a special on @ $270 + Tax...

I'll have to check in person with them when I'm ready to buy, but I'm not one to "haggle" too much.

OT:
Good to see another Head-Fi'er from NS posting in the forums!
Windsor here but I travel to the Passage daily for work.

I just put an order through the other day, and I had several emails go back and forth with them. I'll let you know if/when my stuff arrives...

Actually I sent them an email just after I made that last post and I heard back from them very quickly. I have a couple special orders placed, so those are still on hold waiting.
