All talk about $$ aside, there's a really funny thread on the Steve Hoffman forum with some guy barking about how all of these high end CD players are a ripoff and you can get the same results with an OPPO...

Do you all feel like chumps because you bought a good cd player?

I may have been the one responsible for getting that SH Forums thread closed, if so it was not my intention to do so. For the record my main digital source is a Sony SCD-1, no modifications, retail price when I bought was $4500 (I think).

Sad to say, switch me from the Marantz SA11S2 to the Ayre CX-7eMP at $3,500.

I found the Marantz too mellow. I think a lot of people would like it, though.

here in Hong Kong, the Shanling cd player are a little cheaper than a lot of places, ie US. but really, which one is better if i can choose between t-100 and scd-300? i read that scd-300 has balance out but that's it. if i have no plan(at least that's what i'm thinking

) going balanced, t-100 is what i'm want?
