The case is serious metal. From other guys reports it seems the case functions well as a heatsink. Mine just doesn't get hot, feels warm enough to let you know it's on and not more than that.

You're up north, use it in the winter

No way a class A with this much power could work in that chassis without frying itself.
It is a class AB.
The description itself say class AB too.

I will think this amp will make me happy.
Plan this year was to buy a serious amp. And this one cost 75% less than the amp I was considering to buy

It’s sliding class A bias up to 500ma (I think), and from there it’s class AB. The Asgard 1/2 get much hotter. The case is aluminium and the transistors inside are fastened to the bottom of the case, it uses the case like a heatsink.

Edit: I talked to Tor Arne and he said you can leave it on always, no problem.

He said to me that he has spare parts and can service if required. He changed the pot in mine once as it was a bit scratchy. I delivered it to him and he sent it back to me free of charge. I don’t think he shares the diagram.

Which DAC is good with Atrox? Considering to buy Schiit Modius or a Topping E30. Can I place the DAC on the top of the Atrox? or will it melt?

Not shure which dac is best, but I think you can stack them, just make shure the dac has some elevated feet.

Yes. This is good.perfect for my Grados.
Gain 1
Mellow highs.perfect mids.and it lifts the bass.It rocks
But not black background. But it is okay with this beast.
Sounds engaging… details I never had heard before.

Hmm.. How sensitive are the Grado`s?
I use my Atrox at work with my AKG K400 through a iPhone 12. With the phone almost on full vol. I use the x3 gain and the knob around 10-11 o`clock.

That sounds a bit weird. Does it also happen if you unplug your dac?
