Yes the problem is the Grado ext cable.
Issue is there only when I use my ext cable.
Attatched my ext cable after moving dac from the atrox/rca from powercord.

Tried with my DT1770 and the 3m straight cable. NO buzz. Gain 1 and 2
So what is it with the Grado ext cable that my amp don’t like?

Only have my 5m Grado ex cable. Using it with my Grados. The cable works fine with Magni 3,Hel 2,tr-amp.
DT1770 and org 3m beyerdynamic cable don’t buzz.
Weird..not sure what to do with my grado/atrox :frowning2:
Anyway. DT1770,3m cable and gain 3 rocks.

I need 5 Watts into 16ohms single ended, the 789 doesn't come close to that. The Schiit Asgard 3 does it but looks to have more of a warm tonality, I want a stark neutral tonality that can achieve that power.

Is there anything on the market that does this for about the same cost as the 789?
I have an SMSL SP200 that does 6 watts into 16 ohms single ended, and it's the most neutral amp I've ever had. They're on sale on eBay really cheap or Drop has them for $170.

It has to do with both the cable and the amp designs.
I am not an engineer so I might not be explaining with the most correct terms.
Your extension cable acted as an antenna and the hum comes from the interference.
When the volume pot is at the lowest, the circuit is actually unconnected. The output stage of your amp is not connected to the ground, therefore you hear the hum.
Once you turn the volume pot for a little, it connects to the input stage and is grounded so the hum goes away.

It should not be a problem and you can continue to use it. As when you listen to music you will turn up the volume and everything is properly grounded.

Yes. This is good.perfect for my Grados.
Gain 1
Mellow highs.perfect mids.and it lifts the bass.It rocks
But not black background. But it is okay with this beast.
Sounds engaging… details I never had heard before.
worth every penny.
Not sure how to describe the sound. But tested with My DT1770 and various music yesterday.
The music is mellowed, but still engaging. My DT1770 are always on, with other amps. You will never fall asleep.
But with the Atrox, DT1770 sounds relaxing. Can listen for hours. With the right music, I can close my eyes and fall asleep.
