Just found out there is Tidal masters streaming on the LG V30!! Listening to it now. Must have been a recent app update.

Which version of the Tidal app are you running?

I have the same version installed and am not seeing any masters category. There's no mention of such a change in the update notes either (2.3.2 was pushed out Feb 13th).

Well, it's encouraging news that Tidal may finally be doing something about their Android app!
Are you able to browse for masters once that quality option is selected?

Yes, there is an M icon next to the masters track. I am also able to play them through the uapp app with no usb dac required.

It is so annoying that my Andromeda (and other IEMs I've tried) sometimes will detect as 'Normal' input, and other times 'AUX' mode.
I think I've read an adapter can fix this but such a hassle having to attach/carry an extra piece.
Perhaps my V30 is defective in this sense.. sound is good though, not sure if I'm annoyed enough to warranty it.

Just FYI though - unless you have a recent dev version of UAPP, you won't be getting any benefit from playing those masters. I suspect the same is true of your new Tidal update. I'll check it out as soon as it lands on my phone, but the current version of Tidal's Android app is sadly lacking and fails to play back even 44/16 files (which constitute 99% of Tidal's catalogue) correctly on the V30.
