LG-V10 Hi-Fi audio quality review on serious audio performance

Grados&Magnums sound great with v10. They sound better with higher gain. We don't always have to go to 70.

But be careful as the h.O. is not that tough. I'm using my leckerton more with magnums. Iems on the other hand I think are pretty safe.

The 62 ohm K7## phones are low sensitivity/efficiency (relatively speaking).  So despite being only 62 ohms they need more power to play at a similar volume as many high-Z cans.  I always need to goose the volume knob when going from my 300 ohm HD650 to the 62 ohm K701.  FWIW the HD650 and your 250 ohm Beyers are pretty sensitive.

 Yup ain't that the truth, Dac fix or no, the battery is definitely on the weak side. Waiting for my promotional battery to arrive.

...Whilst waiting for a wireless charging back panel, some powerbanks might come in handy as well... they're gettin' lighter & lighter everyday...

There are compromise on everything. Be glad that you don't have to pair your phone into an external DAC for good quality audio, you can always carry external battery
biggrin.gif

..... oh yeah, extra batteries, a powerbank, anything to keep it runnin' out in the field......

Hey guys, having trouble powering my he400i with the v10 to acceptable volume. Any one else having similar issues?

Curious... What player are you using?  The OEM player / music app (that came with my phone) doesn't really capitalize on the full capability of the circuit.

I was just using the stock Music app. Would another app affect volume? Any suggestions for another app?

Using the software preamp of apps like Neutron can provide more volume but it can also cause some clipping/distortion.

Specs for the HE-400i show 35 ohms so your V10 is likely only in normal power unless you're using a 3.5mm adapter.

Recommend checking which power mode your V10's dac is in after plugging in the headphones.

My knowledge regarding the HE-400i is minimal at best...
If the cable is detachable, try plugging the cable first into the V10 and then plug up the HE-400i...this will activate the 32 bit DAC in AUX mode.

Try it and see if that helps.

I am using Poweramp, the alpha release.  It powers my least sensitive/efficient headphone (K701) with ease.  Plenty of volume, dynamics and clean power.

Its worth a try, since its free just delete it if it doesn't work.

As mentioned above, you can trick the V10 DAC into the AUX mode with a cable adapter.  That should make things noticeably louder as well.
