Grindcore is a LONG way away from deathcore. The core suffix is pretty meaningless these days.

Wow, how on earth did I miss that? For a tech-death fanatic like myself, this is almost humiliating.

Considering how poor the new Cynic album was, I'm not keeping my hopes too high.

I know that, that is why I said I did not remember the names. I did, though, give you a name of a band of something I listen to. You did not ask, I know, but I gave it anyways

Damn, now you make me look for the grindcore bands I have in my laptop...

Clearly nobody saw my last post in the Death Metal thread, so I'll repeat here.

Check out Necrony - a Swedish death/grind band from early 90's who are just about the best Carcass worshippers I have ever found (but they definitely had their own sound). Some of the dudes went on to form Nasum later.

Black Sabbath News: The Devil You Know Cover Art Officially Released

I think the cover is excellent from a technical perspective but I think it doesn't fit the Sabbath/Heaven & Hell style. Makes it look like a Death Metal band.

exactly, it's a good metal cover but not a sabbath cover...by the way doesn't it look somewhat similar in subject to the H.R. Giger cover of "To Mega Therion " ?

Most of these bands belong in the "worst band names" thread.

Hey, Grindcore is basically extreme punk played on x200 speed, so what do you expect from the band names?

Another good grindcore band is Circle Of Dead Children
