I have tried several of the methods he suggested in the past, and perhaps it did not specifically give me Motley Crue as a suggestion(though I think one did).

I know Gamma Ray,Helloween and all the other bands that he referenced in his "scientific" experiment...if I wanted to find more "old" bands thats an easy task.

I originally came in here hoping to be enlightened for some new bands that might be around that have the classic metal sound(ya know,bland,generic,boring,not-metal)that might have flown under my radar.

You can use Metal Archive's advanced search function to find countless bands of any type.

Heavy metal bands formed after 2000:

Heavy metal bands formed after 2005:
http://www.metal-archives.com/search/advanced/searching/bands?bandName=&genre=heavy+metal&country=&yearCreationFrom=2005&yearCreationTo=&bandNotes=&status=&themes=&location=&bandLabelName=#bands

Heavy metal bands formed after 2010:
http://www.metal-archives.com/search/advanced/searching/bands?bandName=&genre=heavy+metal&country=&yearCreationFrom=2010&yearCreationTo=&bandNotes=&status=&themes=&location=&bandLabelName=#bands

I'm not offended when others don't like what I like. We all have our own tastes.

Okay to illustrate my point I went here as suggested

http://rateyourmusic.com/customchart?page=1&chart_type=top&type=album&year=2010s&genre_include=1&include_child_genres=1&genres=Heavy+Metal&include_child_genres_chk=1&include=both&origin_countries=&limit=none&countries=

If you look at the suggestions you will see Motorhead next to Accept next to Ghost(really)next to DarkThrone...Other than the fact these bands actually play instruments there is nearly nil similarity to one another.

then another search on RYM resulted in:

Damn Yankees
U.D.O.
Lynyrd Skynryd
Grave Digger

Being lumped together as a singular style of music!

Thank you SomeGuyDude for perfectly illustrating for me the total lack of rational thought and haphazard search algorithms these sites use to determine categorizing music....which is why I came here to begin with.

TBH I think at this point you're being so insanely picky no one's gonna be able to help you.

"I want a new band that sounds EXACTLY like Accept and Priest! No variation whatsoever! Also they have to be new."

Im not looking for clones of Priest and Accept....rather bands that use chunky riffs, power chords, mid to semi fast tempo and semi-human sounding vocals.

I discovered Unleash the Archers,Anciients and several others in the past 48 hours thru suggestions that have been made.To my ears these arent Accept/Priest clones.

I'd like them to be new because when you get to be my age,and within a 3 month span you lose Motorhead,Eagles,David Bowie it reminds oneself of their extremely limited time on this planet, and having a serious illness as I do,each and every day above ground is a bonus.

To know there will never be another new, quality Motorhead disc is a sad thing to ponder,so yeah I'd like them to be new-ish,in hopes i can keep enjoying their tunes until its my time to go.

EDIT: At this point I think were just

This will be my last post in this thread.

Thanks to those that tried to help me search for new classic metal and turning me onto less traditional metal too..esp Alchemist and FastnBulbous.

For anyone else that comes into this thread looking for old school stuff,it does exist...it is referred to as NWOTHM aka New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal.

I will allow yall to get back to your "other stuff"

Awesome EDM albums. EDM stands for Electronic Djent Music.

https://thealgorithm.bandcamp.com/album/brute-force

OMG. Hilarious genre name. (Though EDM already stands for electronic dance music...and I don't see "electronic djent music" mentioned anywhere on the link...so perhaps that was just your own joke?)

I absolutely loooove this. I've come up with music like this myself: metal with crazy electronic stuff mixed in.

It's a travesty that this band is not listed on Metal Archives...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Algorithm

It's listed there as IDM (intelligent dance music), trance, hardcore techno, and progressive metal. And: "The Algorithm melds several types of electronic and electronic dance music with progressive metal (including djent and mathcore)."

LMAO! http://thealgorithm.bandcamp.com/album/brute-force-overclock-dlc-midi

"‘Overclock,’ the official DLC expansion pack to The Algorithm’s latest full-length album, ’Brute Force’, heats things up with 3 brand new tracks + a ‘floating point” remix by veteran glitch/idm producer Drumcorps."

Here's a free download: http://thealgorithm.bandcamp.com/album/floating-point-vaporwave-remix
