In your opinion, what amp/headphone pairing typically has excellent synergy?
 
I have read about the Woo2/T1 and MAD Ear+HD/RS1 pairings. Any others come to mind?

Sadly it seems the Headroom stuff isn't as popular here as it was years ago..
 
BTW I also thought the D2000 and Asgard was pretty dang impressive.
 
Don't laugh...M50/D2000 with Nuforce Icon Mobile..seriously (that one's from me..and only if you love your mids more than treble/bass)
 
Somehow I never heard an amp having magical synergy with the HD-650? Why is this?

 HD800 and Ray Samuels Raptor - many will disagree with this but I quite like it.
 
 LCD3 with the Sugden Masterclass HA-4 or SPL Phonitor. Good matches there, although it's not half
 bad with a Woo 6 SE either.

, oh yes! The magic is always there... the T1 are very close to perfect when paired with the WA2. 
 
Currently had to get my T1 repaired though, so I can't give any impressions at the moment, hopefully i get them back sometime early next week.

Although I'm not a fan of my Q701 as of the moment in terms of sound, I find the Q701 to have excellent synergy with the HA-160DS, and it also sounds mighty fine with the HD650.

Not sure if my HD650/Lyr combo is legendary, but right now I'm extremely happy with the way the Senns woke up.

+1 I've heard the LF with the LCD-2. I'm partially convinced that it's the best the LCD-2 has ever sounded.

One from a recent meet, the HE-6 out of my Realistic STA-2200 receiver.  Not exactly legendary since there's only 10 people or so that have heard it one time 2 weeks ago, but it deserves to be.

I heard that combo at a meet right after the HD800 came out and thought it was very blah.  At the same meet there were 2 other HD800 rigs that were much better.  The best was a TTVJ Millet Hybrid.  That was one of the best sounding rigs I've ever heard.
