A lot of us would like to know a lot of things, but until these are actually released, we aren't likely to

Ahhhh...you're probably right. That would provide some new info, although I think show impressions are suspect. I like to read comments from folks who get to listen to them in their own rigs over longer periods of time.

Still, like you, I am keenly interested to know more about the 840. I plan to buy one when they finally come out!

It's nice to see Shure going into the headphone industry to compete with the well known AND notsowellknown brands.

Now these are also advertised for monitoring. I was wondering if there was gonna be any comparisons to headphones designed for DJing. In particular Headphones like Denon DN-HP 1000/700, Senn HD-25 MKII, Technics RP-DH/J1200, Stanton, etc etc..

I tried the shure 840, but I felt like it sounds a little like my Denon, while the 240 sounds almost the same, only hollower and not has as much fullness and body. But then again I only listened to it for 1 song.

Of course if the 840 is only $200, then I would rather go for Shure rather than the Denon

Wow, strong endorsement! Thanks for that.

I will lay down the $200 for these no problem...once they are available!

I only got to listen to them briefly but edwood or jude, did you have the opportunity to compare them to other closed cans? Either at canjam or at home? (Ultrasone models, denon models, AT models)
