I only got to listen to them briefly but edwood or jude, did you have the opportunity to compare them to other closed cans? Either at canjam or at home? (Ultrasone models, denon models, AT models)

Did your read the first post of this thread?

Jude compared SRH840 to Pro900, Ed. 9 and HD380 Pro.

I have 3. does that count as alot?

Yes Jude put some of the thoughts comparing the pro 900, e9 and 380 but they were like a sentence worth. If theres any other comparisons (like w/ d2000) that would be awesome.

Well, I'm trying to be honest, like how I strongly disliked the HF2s, but ymmv, it's all subjective.

This of course will not be the case for nearly everyone...I hated the AD700, and love the DT880 - I don't even think they are in the same remote league.

But we all do hear differently! I guess that means only one of the two of us will actually end up liking these

The first part is true, but not necessarily the second!

Indeed, I was being tongue-in-cheek. It is indeed possible we could both end up loving them. I like the DT880, but they are certainly not my favorite headphone. And I bet the ad700 are not donunus's favorite, either.

I just wish we could get to the point where we could try these Shures!!!

hehehe I agree the dt880 is technically better. The ad700s just tickle my senses more

With the beyer and AT thing, they have distinct flavors and a different anomaly might be one mans poison and might not be a big deal for others so its basically all about which evil you can stand more. In the case of you and me skylab, I think we both like the d5000s so it could still be the same case with the shures

Thanks for the heads-up. I'd like to try both 440 and 840, do some "pad rolling"
