I'm curious how it'd compare to higher end soda, or even midrange ones. And of course, some more information on the methodology would be nice - glass or plastic? do you use a straw?

No.  It just seems like one of those "I need attention now!" type of threads that can be irritating.

Don't think he needs attention. Lighten up! He's not actually serious. Just because you ordered an LCD-2 and this "review" just so happens to poke fun at it, doesn't mean you can really seriously get irritated by Bila. No need to defend your purchase, people here are raving about its awesomeness and nobody else is taking this review seriously.

I have not heard the LCD-2's so I have nothing to defend.  If it does not deliver (to my ears) I will simply sell it and get something else.

If it is reportedly good through a plethora of people having listened to the cans, then buy them and try for yourself!  Compare it to your HD800's /Stats/Grados etc etc, keep the cans you like the most.  I know it can get frustrating when gear keeps coming out with awesome reviews after you just make big purchases on something else.  But im sure you can find a way to try them out somehow.

However I am assuming the OP doesn't actually have a pair of LCD-2's in house, only cases of Cream Soda with his hD800's etc, I could be wrong.

But he does get a 10/10 for creativity imo.

I don't think that having the HD800 (or T1 or O2 or whatever other high end) is the reason for the (awesome) review, just because LCD2 is the latest in the block and getting a lot of (deserved) attention. Personally you can put HD800 instead of the LCD2 in the review and would still think it is the best review of the year

Thanks, man! (Apologies to any LCD-2 owners offended by the tongue in cheek.  Welcome to the top of Hype Mountain, where you guys get to rule for the next six months.)

Great review, Bilavideo!

However, I have to disagree with you.  While I don't have the LCD-2s at this time, I've had the opportunity to sample a number of Cream Soda cans in my life.  I have found them to lose their sparkle and ring a bit hollow over time (especially when you are trying to listen to something with "thump").  Initial sound quality leaves something to be desired with quite a bit of background static noise that finally abates over time (especially when left to burn-in/warm up).  They are not all bad, having a smooth, velvety flavor when sampled in small amounts.  They aren't too comfortable when worn (being on-the-ear vice circumaural) and display considerable sibilance when playing music through them; sounding almost "canned".

I'm sure the LCD-2s will have an initial bite in them as well that will smooth out over time.  I look forward to doing my own taste test...I mean...comparison.

Cheers!
