Old and tired? "Angel Band" - The Stanley Brothers from O' Brother Where Art Thou? OST

My latest sun is sinking fast,
My race is nearly run
My strongest trials now are past
My triumph is begun

O come, angel band come and around me stand
O bear me away on your snowy wings to my immortal home
O bear me away on your snowy wings to my immortal home

I know I'm nearing holy ranks
Of friends and kindred dear
I brush the dew of Jordan's banks
The crossing must be near

I've almost gained my heav'nly home
My spirit loudly sings
The holy ones behold they come
I hear the noise of wings

O bear my longing heart to Him
Who bled and died for me
Whose blood now cleanses from all sin
And gives me victory

I think the most FITTING song under these circumstances would be 'One Song Glory' from the musical, rent.

"One song, Glory, One song, Before I go, Glory, One song to leave behind"

I can't think of a favorite song though, because at the moment I don't really have one...

Pink Floyd: Wish You were Here
followed closely by stairway to heaven (give me a little more time to live)

The first song that came to my mind was
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven. I wonder why so few people had this song on their list. At least for me it was THE obvious choice.

Depends on my mindset - am I ready to go or not ? :

Not ready to go (and probably pissed that I'm going!) - "More Human Than Human" by White Zombie

Ready & willing to go - "Across The Universe" by The Beatles zD

I'll have to go with XFxGeforced on this. If you had kids, parents who are still alive, or brothers and sisters, you'd probably want to say something to them. It would be cruel to those left behind to know that you wanted to listen to a song instead of talk/listen to them in your final moments.

Camel - For Today

I saw a pearl of wisdom
in the spirit of a man
as he saved
the day he lost.

Time will say I told you so
if we look back in regret.
Never give a day away.
It won't return the same again.

Nothing can last
there are no second chances.
Never give a day away.
Always live for today.
