Would, like during all times I listen to music, depend on my mood. Here are a few possibilities:

- Jon McLean: American Pie
- Nightwish: Dead Boy's Poem

the first thing that popped into my mind was kansas "carry on my wayward son"

i also like dylan's "knockin' on heaven's door" -- seems very appropriate.

Shostakovich's fifth symphony, the third movement.

Slow, yearning, and ultimately unfulfilled... but beautiful.

Vivaldis The Four Seasons. The seasons are generally seen as being a metaphor for life. More importantly however, it is 40 minutes long.

If it had to be a short song though, Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life by errrr... monty python. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHPOzQzk9Qo
