Ok here's a toughy. If you knew you were going to die within the next few minutes (an unknown, quick, and nonviolent death), which gives you just enough time to listen to one last song, which one would it be?

I'm not going to say anything for myself yet, I have to think about it...

arcade fire - wakeup

when they played this right next to me, it was the greatest moment of my life. Yes I'm crazy about arcade fire. And this song now means so much to me.

I know I just heard this song today, but damn it fits this description.

In This Twilight - Nine Inch Nails

all though right where it belongs is a good one as well

"Fields of Gold" as arranged and sung by Eva Cassidy (I know Sting wrote it, but her version blows his away.)

"Maggot Brain" by Funkadelic feat. Eddie Hazel (One of the most wrenchingly beautiful rock guitar instrumentals ever.)

"Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd (More beautiful, elegaic guitar, and fatalistic lyrics. No pun intended.)

I'll make my decision at the last moment, O.K.?

My first instinct is to say that it would be the fugue from Shostakovich's Prelude & Fugue No. 4 in E minor. Or maybe "Deep River" from A Child of Our Time by Michael Tippett (although I was kinda saving that for my funeral).

If it must be a song rather than a classical piece, the field is much wider, but to say something I'll say ... "I Can't See New York" by Tori Amos.

"Signal to Noise" - Peter Gabriel

I think that fits the situation pretty well.

"Alive" - Pearl Jam

'Wo,oh,oh - I'm still alive..........but do I deserve to be, is that the question and if so, who answers.....'

....ah, I see. You answer. Whatever you say boss.
