Should we be keeping an eye on you?

FYI on voltage. Voltage is just the differential of an electric current. Amps on the other hand is the amount of an electric current. Believe it or not, a low amperage can kill you very easy, where as a higher current, which can also kill you, but will result in burning of the flesh. Lower amperage will disrupt the heart. Also note, current follows the path of least resistance. If you are not grounded, and you touch a current source, most likely (but not always) it will follow what ever has the least resistance to a ground source. If you or nothing else is a ground source, no current passes. It is always interesting when they state in a movie or novel that it was 50,000 volts that killed a condemned person in the electric chair, that really is only half the info. How much amperage is the more critical issue. You may have seen as a child a Van De Graff generator, where when some one touches the top part, their hair raises up.

One thing a movie did get right was the Green Mile, when the one person gets electrocuted, but one guard does not put the wet sponge on the persons head, the person burned, this is high amperage in effect.

Does anyone have the pinout of the Koss 950's looking to recable for a Stax amp and am having no luck. Got the connector coming but can't find it. Any help would be great as a lot of the links at the start of this thread are dead now.

Best I can find:

(this is a screengrab of the pinout off of the web archive, because the web archive isn't exactly "archival grade" if you get my meaning)

I think "outward" is "-" but I could be wrong. Would probably do a bit more research before hooking it up, although, its just phase, so if its backwards you will probably notice pretty quickly. :xf_eek:

This thread has the STAX pinouts if you dig a bit: http://www.head-fi.org/t/589430/high-quality-stax-headphone-adapter

Thanks for that. My plug won't be here till the 5th the SRM1 MK2 arrives a day earlier. It is going to have a bit of competition for headtime as I also ordered a pair of AKG K872's (good bonus this year). Will report back after I get it all working. Thanks again.

I do my best to turn them together. Recently started using them again, after straying with other cans for a while. They're really nice sounding!

A Happy, Healthy New Year to all!
