It's quite simple really. Separate the drivers from the headband. After gently pulling off the pads, you should see 4 screws. Just simply unscrew them and separate the driver and the enclosure. Then apply tak. I like to apply small thin pieces in a circular pattern until it is covered. Then I just press it out so its nice and even.

I tried some A/Bing yesterday. The main difference that I can tell is that the A130s have a larger quantity of bass and the highs are a bit less strident. The A130s are of course subject to the closed in sound, which sounds slightly fuller but somewhat more congested than the 250s. Of the two I like the A130s a bit more so far, however I can see how people would prefer the 250s.

I may decide to give the A130s the SPC treatment. The 250s could probably use some nice copper, although I'm not spending the big bux on Cardas for these guys :p

um, I hate to be a stickler, but given all the attention they're getting now, wouldn't this be a good time to make a separate A130 thread?

Has anyone else tried the tak-mod on the A130s? Let me know what you guys think of it!

A note to the people recabling the A130/A250. The soldering posts are quite small and aren't too happy with thicker wire (22 gauge). I managed to work with it and use the existing boots to offer a bit of hold, but some added strain relief is probably in order. If any more than a slight bit of pressure is put on the cable and it is not held down, the solder will pop off the small post.

EDIT: Ordered a second A130 for work duty cuz it's such a bargain

Well, one set went for $250 and the other went for $280, but they both looked just like A-130s from the back. I never knew Koss made a closed version of the ESP/950.

Also grabbed an A-130 today. Just to be safe.
